ABOUT US

The Design and Construction department provides a variety of services and expertise in the management of capital improvement projects ranging from minor renovations to major new construction projects. Since 1990 the department has successfully managed and delivered over $3 billion dollars in construction projects for University clients including facilities for healthcare, research, academic, administrative, athletics, wellness, student housing, cultural, and site infrastructure.

Our mission is to execute capital projects that are consistent with UM’s Strategic Plan and that meet the needs of our faculty, staff, students, and neighbors. We are dedicated exclusively to University planning and construction projects, we are uniquely positioned to understand the University’s needs, the maze of institutional, local and regional approval processes, and the importance of working with our neighbors and the community. We understand the uniqueness of academic culture and the various needs of the faculty, staff, students, and neighbors.

Our mission is to deliver quality projects that positively impact the University community and withstand the test of time.
